LEWISTON — An Air Force JROTC Military Ball and Awards night was held at the Green Ladle facility at Lewiston High School on May 3.
American Legion Commander Paul R. Bernard presented the American Legion ROTC awards for military and scholastic excellence awards to outstanding cadets in each class.
Receiving the Gold Award for Military Excellence was Tia Ayer. The Silver Award was presented to Cadet Dustin Rand, and the Bronze Award was presented to Cadet Bretton Campbell.
Cadets must also have demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character and citizenship. American Legion JROTC Awards for Military Excellence are given annually to outstanding JROTC cadets. Not more than one student may be nominated per year for these awards. Students participating in JROTC programs receive these awards, which are approved for wear by the Department of Defense.
