AUGUSTA — Maine energy officials say the state’s heating oil prices remain stable.

The Governor’s Energy Office said Wednesday that its weekly survey pegs the statewide average price of oil at $3.36 per gallon, the same as last week and 2 cents lower than two weeks ago.

Kerosene prices have remained relatively stable, dropping one cent from two weeks ago to $3.81 per gallon. Likewise, propane has dropped by a penny over the past two weeks.

That’s despite an increase in crude oil costs.

As usual, northern Maine has the highest oil prices, and southern Maine has the lowest.
