Topic: Theology of poverty

LEWISTON — Calvary United Methodist Church will continue its exploration to “the ends of the earth” Sunday, June 23, with special presenters Nancy and Mina Craig who will offer a consideration of the theology of poverty.

Cornerstone vacation school

JAY — Cornerstone Baptist Church, Route 17 in North Jay, will have its Vacation Bible School, “The Bug Zone – Transformed by Our Big God,”  from 6 to 8 p.m. June 24-28.

There will be games, refreshments, skits, Bible and missionary stories, crafts and puppets. Classes will be for all ages through adults. Transportation is available. For information call 645-4893 or 897-7024.

Bible School has castle theme

MEXICO — Vacation Bible School for ages 3-12 will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 24-28 at First Baptist Church, 20 Roxbury Road.

The theme for the week is “The Kingdom Chronicle.” The church will become a castle complete with princes, princesses, crowns, dragons and inflatable swords.

There will be crafts, games, snacks and surprises while learning to “put on the armor of God.”

All workers over the age of 16 have been fully screened.

Wilton Church seeks sale items

WILTON — The Wilton United Methodist Church will have a huge yard sale on the Friday of the annual Blueberry Festival, Aug. 2.

Anyone with items to donate, except for clothing and appliances, may drop them off at the church on Sundays just before 11 a.m. or just after noon, or they may be picked up by member Jeff Nadeau by calling 645-4864.

All are welcome to attend Sunday services at 11 a.m.
