AUBURN — A community day, “Celebrating Summer,” will be held out of doors from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the Danville Union Church, 1065 Old Danville Road. On sale will be hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cold drinks and plants.

At 10 a.m. there will be a whoopie pie contest. These must be homemade, three on a plate, covered by plastic wrap. The person’s name and phone number must be legibly written on the bottom of the plate, and a list of all ingredients included. Prizes will be awarded.

Children of all ages who are in attendance may take part in special outdoor games from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They must be dressed appropriately for outdoor play and may stand the chance of getting a little wet with some games. They may, also, have their picture taken with Snoopy.

At 1 p.m. there will be a blueberry pie eating contest. This will be limited in number to the first 10 people who sign up with a $2 donation. Prizes will be awarded.

Ample parking will be at the Danville Junction Grange hall, and a shuttle service will be provided up to the church.

Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Auburn PAL Center.
