LIVERMORE FALLS — Rev. Bob and Darlene Armstong began an interim ministry at the Livermore Falls Church of the Nazarene on May 5.
Rev. Armstrong is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He is celebrating 40 years of active ministry this year, 36 of those years in Maine.
Darlene Armstrong is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and the University of Maine at Orono. She has been a school teacher for more than 35 years.
Rev. Armstrong has served in Maine since 1977 as a pastor, associate pastor, interim pastor and as an evangelist. He is also a teacher and mentor in the Maine Education Resource Center for the Church of the Nazarene in the state. This is a program to educate and equip those entering the ministry as a second career.
The Armstrongs have just finished a successful ministry in Millinocket. Over the past five years they have served congregations in Millinocket, Auburn, Fairfield, Yarmouth, Wells and Bangor.
Rev. Armstrong is known as a man of prayer and as an anointed preacher. His emphasis has been to help congregations find reconciliation and healing in order to establish a vision for the future. Darlene Armstrong is an integral part of the ministry being a prayer partner and in establishing one-on-one bridges of friendship with the women of the church.
