Family Game Fair at library

LEWISTON — Families of all ages are invited to Lewiston Public Library to play fun and hilarious games for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11. The library will have five areas of games including computer games, board games, educational games, puzzles and bingo.

There will be snacks and randomly drawn prizes. The event is a collaboration between Lewiston Public Schools, Lewiston Adult Education and the Lewiston Public Library.

Iris Society spring auction

AUBURN — The Maine Iris Society will host its annual spring auction at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

The public is invited to join members in the fun sale in which plants go to the highest bidder. Divisions will be available from members who grow other kinds of flowers besides iris. Many different perennials are usually available along with shrubs such as lilacs. All of the divisions have overwintered in Maine gardens and are hardy. Door prizes will be drawn.

Knights plan bean supper

AUBURN — The Andy Valley Knights of Columbus, Council 8742, will hold a bean and American chop suey supper from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the basement of Sacred Heart Church, Western Avenue. Supper includes hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, dessert and a beverage.

West Bowdoin plant sale

BOWDOIN — The 7th annual West Bowdoin Baptist Church Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at West Bowdoin Baptist Church, 54 West Road.

There will be freshly dug perennials, annuals, herbs, houseplants and vegetables as well as baked goodies and sweet treats.

All proceeds go to the West Bowdoin Baptist Church’s Women’s Mission Circle and Building Fund.

Art show, bake sale

DURHAM — The Durham Historical Society will hold a Community Art Show and bake sale to benefit the Restoration Fund. The show will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Union Church/Old Town Hall on Route 136.

Boys/Girls Clubs vendor, craft fair

LEWISTON — The Auburn/Lewiston Clubhouse of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine will host its first-ever Vendor & Craft Fair from 9 .am. to noon Saturday, May 18, at the clubhouse, 43 Second St.

There is a $10 fee for any vendors or crafters interested in having a table at the event, which will feature such items as Scentsy and Pampered Chef, as well as a number of local artisans.

The event is free and open to the public and all proceeds raised will go to support transportation for the Auburn/Lewiston Clubhouse, which serves more than 100 students daily from throughout the Twin Cities in its after school program.

Girl Scout Troop to host clean up

BUCKFIELD — Girl Scout Cadet Troop 1480 from Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield will host a clean up day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

They will be focusing on a segment of the Nezinscot River behind the Bus Garage in Buckfield.

The Girl Scouts have been working on a year-long project about littering, and taking better care of the planet. They wrote a letter to the Buckfield selectmen and town manager asking for help. This will be this troop’s end of year final community service activity. The public is welcome to join them in this clean up day.

Turkey supper set for May 18

WALES — The Wales Presbyterian Women will hold a turkey supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Wales Youth Center, Route 132.

Menu includes turkey, stuffing, gravy, vegetable, mashed potato, beverages, pies.

Proceeds to benefit the Wales Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome.
