Green Sash Night at Grange
AUBURN — On Thursday, May 9, Danville Junction Grange will observe Green Sash Night with a supper at 6 p.m. and meeting at 7 p.m. Officers of Androscoggin Pomona Grange will fill the chairs.
A Mother’s Day program will be presented with musical selections given by State Pomona Debra Ivers. All grange members are invited to attend.
Commercial Travelers meet
MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Bucknam Oaks. A potluck dinner will follow the business meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on May 2 were: first, Dolly Jones and Dick Dennis; second, Norm Bissonnette and Ron Hynes; third, Lorraine Fillion and Bob Cielinski; fourth, Robert Oliver and Gary David; fifth, Vicki Thayer Adams and Ed Hinkley.
This concludes league play. Non-league play will continue throughout the summer every Thursday at 9 a.m. sharp at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Central Avenue. League will resume on Thursday, Sept. 5. All are welcome.
Legion seeks Boys State teens
BUCKFIELD — The American Legion John D. Long Post 58 is looking for local applicants to attend Dirigo Boys State to be held June 16-20 at Thomas College in Waterville.
Applicants must be completing their junior year of high school and have qualities of leadership, good character and service to their school and/or community.
The program is part instruction and part role playing government officials, while learning about our democratic style of government.
There is no cost to the student. Tuition is paid by the legion and sponsors. Anyone can recommend a student.

Program on life certificate
AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer “Lead Your Way: Life Entrepreneurship Certificate Program.” The first session of the 10-hour program will be held Thursday, May 16, and the second session Friday, May 31. Facilitated by psychologist Amy Wood, author of the award-winning book “Life Your Way,” the program cuts through the clutter of quick-fix personal and professional growth hype and teaches a realistic program for thriving in all areas of importance. The intention is to give ambitious adults an edge on enhancing performance, prosperity and peace of mind in a world where the rules of achievement have clearly changed. Students will learn the five mistakes most people make when trying to simplify life and reduce stress. The cost is $139 and participants will receive a copy of Dr. Wood’s book and are eligible to receive one CEU.

Lakeside Chapter to meet May 14
WALES — On Tuesday, May 14, at 7 p.m., Lakeside Chapter will meet at the Masonic-Grange Hall, 322 Centre Road, to celebrate Mother’s Day and honor the station of conductress and associate conductress.
The grand conductress and associate conductress have been invited.
The group will also install Lucille Bauer in the station of Ruth, thus completing the installation of all 18 officers.
Cynthia, Phyllis and Vi will provide refreshments.
Ladies are requested to wear colored gowns, gentlemen dark suits.
