According to Joshua Ouellette, who lives in the apartment that was burning, he was not home at the time. Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Baril said sprinklers in the building helped keep the fire in check until firefighters arrived to put it out.
Firefighters respond to a report of a structure fire at 379 Lisbon St. on Tuesday afternoon.
LEWISTON — Lewiston and Lisbon firefighters responded to a structure fire at 379 Lisbon St. just after 3 p.m. Tuesday
Smoke was reported coming from the four-story apartment bulding next to the Lewiston Pawn Shop. The sprinkler system was activated, keeping the fire in check until firefighters arrived.
The Lisbon truck was in Lewiston helping with the Blake Street fire investigation and pulled away to respond to the Lisbon Street fire.
