Hockey game helps burn center

PORTLAND — The Portland Pirates and organizers of the annual Maine Event-Battle on Ice hockey tournament are teaming up Saturday, April 20, for a fundraiser for the Shriners Hospital in Boston.

The $12 main deck seats ($7 savings on day-of-game price) will include a $3 donation to the hospital on behalf of the Pirates hockey team and the International Fire, Police and Military Winter Games, which sponsors the Maine Event. The Maine Event is a fundraiser for the Boston Burn Center at the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Faceoff for Saturday’s game against Connecticut Whale is 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland.

Discounted tickets are being offered to participants in this year’s Maine Event-Battle on Ice held at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, as well as their families and friends.

Chesterville bean supper

CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will have a public baked bean supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
