NORWAY — Celia (Heino) Jacobson, 91, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 21, 1922, the daughter of Finnish immigrants, Kalle (Charles) and Liisa Heino. She was one of 12 children. Celia married Frank Jacobson on June 21, 1941 and they purchased the farm house on Town Farm Road in Harrison, which she resided at until her passing.
She worked as a welder at the shipyard during the war. She later remained home working the vegetable gardens and helping with the chickens that they raised for Fort Halifax. Celia liked fishing, growing vegetables and flowers in her gardens. She enjoyed baking cookies and Finnish pastries. She enjoyed playing many different board and card games with family and friends. She loved playing bingo.
She is survived by daughter, Loraine Isenberg and husband, William, of Holly Hill, Fla.; son, Ronald Jacobson and wife, Robin, of Farmersville, Texas; son, Donald Jacobson and wife, June, of Harrison; granddaughter, Kelly Mannette and husband, William, of Windham; grandson, Joshua Jacobson of Harrison; grandson, Michael Jacobson and Jannel of North Bridgton; great-grandchildren, Macy, Mya and William Mannette of Windham; a sister, Hilda Peterson of Bridgton; and many nieces and nephews.
Celia was predeceased by her husband, Frank; a son, Royal; brothers, William, Victor, Carl, Albert and Robert; and sisters, Louise Asperen, Liz Reynolds, Lina Reynolds, Linda Heath and Martha Kyllonen.
