Supper to benefit John Flagg

RUMFORD — A spaghetti and bean supper to benefit lung cancer patient John B. Flagg will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the American Legion Hall.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. A 50/50 drawing and raffle will be available for $1 each or six for $5.

RSU 10 pre-K program sign-ups

RUMFORD — Children who will be 4 years old on or before Oct. 15 and live in the Mountain Valley Region (Rumford, Mexico, Hanover, Roxbury, Bryon) are eligible for the pre-K program at Meroby Elementary and Rumford Elementary.

Applications will be available starting Monday, April 22, at those schools. Applications will close at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26. Only completed applications with a copy of the child’s original birth certificate (from the town where the child was born; the birth certificate from the hospital will not be accepted) will be accepted. Completed applications will be used to select student slots.

A lottery to select applications will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at Meroby and Rumford Elementary.
