Area retired educators meet
LEEDS — The April meeting of the Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will be held Wednesday, April 10, at the Leeds Community Church. The business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The ladies of the church will serve a turkey dinner with all the fixings. The cost of the meal is $9. Following lunch Crystal Ward will present a travelogue on her recent trip to Panama.
Directions to the church: Take Route 202 toward Augusta. Turn left onto Route 106 just after Springbrook Golf Course in Leeds. Follow Route 106 about six miles and turn left onto Church Hill Road. The church is at the top of the hill. There is a parking lot on the left across from the church.

All educators are welcome to attend. You need not have taught in Androscoggin County, or even in the state.
Senior Citizens Cribbage League
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on March 28 were: first, Gene Brown and Ron Hynes; second, Roland Martel and Aaron Burke; third, Mickie Farnum and Sonny Beaudoin; fourth, Judy Sirois and Stan Tetenman; fifth, Edith Chambers and Dick Dennis.

Golden Age Club meeting set
AUBURN — Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish – Golden Age Club will meet Tuesday, April 9, at Sacred Heart Church.
Social hour will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Game time will include cribbage, rummy, backgammon and other games.
A parmesan chicken dinner at noon will be followed by a business and planning meeting. New members and guests are welcome.
The cooks need to know how many are coming, so call 576-4082 to make a reservation. Payment of $5 will be accepted at the door.
Class on acrylic painting
TURNER — Participants in an MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education class will create their own realistic, one-of-a-kind acrylic masterpiece. Class will begin Tuesday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. The fee is $75.
Instructor Janet Glatz will teach the fine point of acrylic painting. Glatz has been exhibiting her work throughout New England for over 20 years. Students need to bring paints, brushes, pencils, erasers and their creative minds.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge club winners at the Lewiston Armory on March 18 were as follows: first, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; second, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier.
Winners of the quarterly club championship on March 25 were: first, Connie Webster and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; fourth, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; first in B & C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe; second in B, Marta Clements and Elaine Dresser.
Winners of the quarterly club championship on March 26 were: first, Sharron Hinckley and Dorothy Kelleher; second, Paul Sherman and Mike True; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Rosemarie and Tom Goodwin; first in B & C, Sue Kaluzynski and Donna Bartlett; second in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.
High masterpoint point winners for March were: 1. Paul Sherman; 2. Rosemarie Goodwin; 3. Mike True; 4. Les Buzzell; 5. Pete Cummings and 6. Connie Webster.
