MEDFORD, Mass. — Ben Armstrong, a sophomore mechanical engineering student at Tufts University School of Engineering, has been placed on the dean’s list for maintaining an honor average for the fall 2012 academic term.

This is his third consecutive term on the dean’s list. Ben, a 2011 graduate of Edward Little High School, is the son of Andrea Eusden and Charlie Armstrong of Auburn.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Meghan Murphy of Winthrop qualified for the winter 2012 dean’s list at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

She is enrolled in the music business program and is a graduate of St. Dominic Academy.

CORTLAND, N.Y. — Katie D. Avery of Lewiston has been placed on the dean’s list for the fall 2012 semester at the State University of New York College at Cortland.

She is majoring in criminal justice. A 2009 graduate of North Yarmouth Academy, Katie is now a crew chief the the EMS Squad that covers the school for medical emergencies.

Katie is also a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society for students in the criminal justice sciences.

She is the daughter of Tom and Diane Avery of Lewiston and granddaughter of L. Zita Bolduc of Lewiston and David and Margaret Avery of Auburn.

SOUTH PORTLAND — Joel P. Dumond of Greene has made the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland.

His course of study is electrician technology as well as air-conditioning and refrigeration.

BOSTON — Emmanuel College in Boston recently announced the recipients of dean’s list awards for the fall 2012 semester, which included the following local students.

Rachelle Henry of Lisbon is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Rachelle will graduate in 2013 from the Manchester, N.H. campus.

James Morgan of New Gloucester is pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy. James will graduate in 2014 from the Manchester, N.H. campus.

Stephanie Gauthier of Sabattus is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in health sciences. Stephanie will graduate in 2013 from the Boston campus.
