AUBURN — Virgie A. Morse, 64, of Chesterville, passed away Monday, March 25, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

She was born in 1948, in Houlton, the daughter of William and Irene Graham. She attended Houlton schools. In 1965, she married Stanley Morse in New Brunswick, Canada. The family eventually settled in Chesterville with four children and Virgie went to work at Forster Manufacturing for a short time.

When she finished work at Forster’s, she went to work at the family business, Morse and Sons Saw Mill in Chesterville. They made many things including slats for lobster traps which they frequently took to the coast. After her husband, Stanley, passed in 1997, she devoted her time to her children and especially her grandchildren whom she loved so much. Virgie enjoyed playing World of Warcraft online with her family and friends known as Veranox.

Virgie is survived by two daughters, Sheri Knowles and her husband, Orin A. Knowles, of Chesterville and Mechelle Messer of Tennessee; two sons, Michael A. Morse and his wife, Dale, of New Sharon and Daniel E. Morse of Livermore; 14 grandchildren, Keith, Allen, Karen, Lisa, Loralai, Alex, Dylan, Aleigh, Jordan, Daniel, Joseph, Christopher, Kayleigh and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gwen and Gerry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband; a grandson, Michael Morse II; sister, Sandra Kinney; and nine other siblings.
