FRYEBURG — The National Labor Relations Board has dismissed several charges against Fryeburg Academy by the Fryeburg Academy Teachers Association, which said the school had agreed to salary raises and failed to give them.

According to a release from Bernstein Shur, which represents Fryeburg Academy, Tuesday’s decision dismissed two charges made by the association, that the school agreed to raises. The board agreed with Fryeburg Academy that no “meeting of the minds” had occurred between the school and the union and rejected the claim of “direct dealing.”

“A third charge, that the school did not provide requested information to the union, is pending a settlement agreement between the school and the union,” the release said.

The charges, filed last fall, said that the union and Fryeburg Academy had signed an agreement on salaries Oct. 1.

“The decision by the National Labor Relations Board gives us the opportunity to move forward collaboratively, to put this behind us,” Fryeburg Academy headmaster Daniel Lee Jr. said in a statement, “And for the faculty and administration to work together in good faith going forward.”
