Fortier Chapter/ Council meets

LEWISTON — Members of Royal Arcanum Chap. 52, Association Canado-Americaine, will gather at the monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Lewiston Armory, 195 Central Ave. Be on time due to the security of the building.

Auburn Art Club meeting

AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Auburn Public Library. Note change of location. The group will be introduced to the new “Create! Media Lab” by media lab specialist Donna Wallace.

The lab is equipped with three Mac computers along with accessories such as keyboards, flatbed scanners, microphones, studio lights and a still camera. Wallace will be demonstrating several of these technological devices to the group.

The chairman for this committee is Linda Lelansky who will be assisted by Jane Linnell and Dorothy Murray.

Chakra workshop set

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering a free chakra workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Chakras: Your Life Energy” will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell St.

Chakras are major energetic centers in the body that run along the spine. When our chakras are functioning properly we feel well, energized and balanced. Wellness educator Marcy Covey will discuss the influence of chakras on our physical and emotional health. Discover if your chakras are open or closed and what you can do to strengthen and balance your chakras.

Senior Citizens cribbage league

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Jan. 24 were: first, Bob Cielinski and Steve Agurkis; second, Norm Bissonnette and Gil Cote; third, Sandy Verrill and Bert Chenard; fourth, Roland Bosse and Moe Fournier; fifth, Mike Martin and Terry Chambers.

YWCA Winter Carnival Camp

LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine will be hosting a Winter Carnival Camp during February school vacation.

The camp will run Feb. 18 to 22 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended care available starting at 6:30 a.m. Children grades K-6 who attend will participate in activities such as snow painting, Magic Y World, winter crafts, snow cone making, ice skating, baking, karate with Donna Harris of Phoenix Karate Academy and many more winter related activities. Parents will need to provide appropriate outdoor clothing, a bathing suit and towel, along with lunch, two snacks and a beverage daily. The fee is $138 for the week.

Androscoggin Bee Club meet

AUBURN — The Androscoggin Bee Club will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in room 206 of the Auburn City Building, 60 Court St., just above the police department.

The club meeting will take place for the first half hour, then this month’s speaker, Marc Plaisted, will discuss “Spring Hive Management” at 7.
