Bridge Club championship
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship on Dec. 18 at the Lewiston Armory were as follows: first, Sherry Hinckley and Fred Letourneau; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, Paul Sherman and Mike True; fourth, Ellie and George Wigton.

Bartending, mixology course
AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a bartending course on Wednesday evenings, Jan. 9 through March 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $350 and includes all materials.
Students will learn the basics of professional bartending and mixology and its application in restaurants, clubs and function facilities. This class also includes the Maine Course, a six-hour seminar in the responsible service of alcohol as required by the State of Maine Liquor Commission and the Department of Human Services.

College planning workshop
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free workshops on Essentials of College Planning for adults 19 and over at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, and at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way. MEOC, which is housed at the University of Maine, provides assistance to adults living in Maine and helps them go to whichever college or university they choose.
All MEOC services are free. They include GED/SAT preparation, college planning, referrals/advocacy, career advising, financial aid advising, college admissions process and application fee waivers for qualified adults.
The starting point for all MEOC participants is The Essentials of College Planning, an interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Preregistration is required.
