NEW VINEYARD — A Skowhegan man was injured after he lost control of the tractor-trailer he was driving and rolled over on Route 234 Tuesday afternoon, State Police Trooper William Plourde said.
The rig, which was hauling a load of wood scraps, rolled onto its right side and skidded down the road, he said. It ended up on the side of the road with its load spilled, he said. The scraps are expected to be cleaned up in the morning with a loader.
The driver Luke Mantor, 33, received minor injuries and complained of pain. He refused emergency medical treatment and was taken in a personal vehicle to a hospital to be checked out, Plourde said.
Mantor was driving for Hector Beaulieu Associates out of South Portland.
The New Vineyard Fire Department assisted Plourde at the scene.
A Collins Enterprise wrecker employee was trying to get the tractor-trailer back on its wheels at about 6 p.m.
The accident occurred at 4 p.m.
The road was open to one lane but was closed while the truck was being righted, Plourde said.
