Cribbage winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Nov. 8 were: first place: Mickie Farnum and Sandy Oliver; second, Gene Brown and Mike Martin; third, Don Maillette and Arnie Burgess; fourth, Doris Gosselin and Norm Bissonnette; fifth, Anna Faucher and Pauline Quimby.

Next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. For further information, call Roger Labbe at 212-9253.

Legion events Nov. 16, 17

MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150 will hold a Texas hold ’em tournament at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. Buy-in is $35.

The Post 150 Auxiliary will hold a Chinese auction and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

Lewiston Elks open house

LEWISTON — On Nov. 18, the Lewiston Elks Lodge 371 will be holding an open house at its facility at 1675 Lisbon St. to give the public an opportunity to tour the Lodge, ask questions about the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks and obtain information about facility rental for functions or family gatherings.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and there will be several members on hand to provide tours of the facility and answer questions about who the Elks are and what they do. In addition, there will be door prizes, food, music, beverages and an opportunity to learn about many of the Elks community service programs and membership. The Lodge’s function hall has also been undergoing renovations, and this is an excellent opportunity to see what changes have taken place.

Balsam fir decor sale for Safe Voices

LEWISTON — Maine-made balsam fir decorations make great gifts and help support Safe Voices, the domestic violence resource center serving Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford Counties.

Available are a traditional, handmade, double sided wreath accented with pine cone clusters with burgundy berry centers and a holiday burgundy velvet bow; a wreath with natural cones and a purple velvet bow (purple is the color for domestic violence awareness); or a kissing ball adorned with burgundy bows.

For information, call 795-6744 and ask for Janet or Kim. Include the following with each order: Name, address, phone number, email, payment method (check, credit card or cash on pickup). The cost is $25 per wreath, choice of burgundy or purple bow, or $35 per kissing ball.

Items will be available to pick up at Safe Voices administrative office on Thursday, Nov. 29, and Friday, Nov. 30.

Library pie sale is Nov. 21

MECHANIC FALLS — Mechanic Falls Public Library will hold its annual pie sale Wednesday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until the pies are gone. The library is on the third floor of the Municipal Building, 108 Lewiston St.
