HARRISON — Sign-ups for the “snow’mazing” Ski & Snowboard Program for local students continues this week.
Residents in grades kindergarten through 12 may sign up for the seven-week program at Shawnee Peak from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 30. The sessions also include time for equipment fittings and paperwork.
Sign-ups are at the Harrison Community Room above the Fire Station on Edes Falls Road.
The program starts on the first Friday in January. The Waterford program also is held on Fridays at Shawnee Peak in Bridgton.
Parents of Harrison students who attend Waterford Memorial School will still drop off equipment at the Harrison school. Program participants will ride the Waterford Elementary School ski bus from Waterford school to Shawnee Peak to join the Harrison program.
For Harrison students who attend the Harrison Elementary School, it will be the same as last year. Parents will drop off equipment at the Harrison school and program participants will ride the Harrison ski bus to Shawnee Peak.
Waterford students who attend Harrison Elementary School will ride the Harrison ski bus to Shawnee Peak.
Middle and high school students from Harrison will ride the 2 p.m. ski bus from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris to Harrison Elementary School where chaperons and equipment will be picked up and taken to Shawnee Peak. Parents will drop off equipment at the Harrison Elementary School.
Community service and volunteer paperwork is still being accepted and payment plans can be set up at this time. Shirts, pants and sweatshirts will be available to try on for size at both sign-ups.
Coordinators will be available at registration to help with program selections and questions. Shawnee Peak personnel will do fittings at the Nov. 30 sign-up for anyone who is renting equipment.
