The Oxford County Commission has been an “old boys club” with generous retirement and insurance benefits. This year could be different.

Jane Rich in District 2 and Charleen Chase in District 3 bring exceptional experience and a fresh look at ways the county could work more effectively with towns and with state government to serve Oxford County people. Rich was the long-time register of deeds and Chase, CEO of Community Concepts. As Democrats, they will bring bipartisanship to the commission.

Carol Gutekunst is the Democratic candidate for register of probate. She was the deputy register for many years. She is an expert in dealing with wills, name changes, guardianships and adoptions.

People may not realize the importance of county government and, when voting, do not vote to the end of the ballot. This year there is a chance to vote for a new era in county government.
