DIXFIELD — One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash at Weld and North streets on Oct. 24.
Sgt. Jeff Howe said Justin Buotte, 28, was traveling north on Weld Street when his 1998 Chevrolet truck struck the right rear of a Federal Express Dodge van. The FedEx van was driven by Christopher Whitten-Drummond, 31, who stopped it and was waiting to turn left onto North Street.
Whitten-Drummond complained of neck pain and nausea after the collision. Med-Care ambulance responded to accident but Whitten-Drummond refused transport.
The front of Buotte’s truck was damaged beyond repair, and the rear of the FedEx van sustained damage in excess of $5,000, police said.
Among the other incidents reported in the past week were:
Thefts:
* A Rowe Street resident reported at 10:15 a.m. Oct. 29 that somebody stole prescription medication and $100 cash from his home.
* A Merrill Road resident reported at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 18 that somebody broke into her home and stole several items. There were no signs of forced entry.
* A Coburn Avenue resident reported at 1:14 p.m. Oct. 17 that his son’s home had been broken into. The home was vacant at the time. There was a camper parked behind the residence that was forcibly opened. No items were taken, but there was considerable damage to the home.
Accidents:
*At 6:25 a.m. Oct. 25 a Jeep Cherokee driven by Corey Bussiere, Dixfield, was traveling east on Canton Point Road when it struck a deer as it ran into the road from the north. The Jeep sustained about $1,000 damage and the deer was killed.
*At 6:41 p.m. Oct. 22 a GMC driven by Brandon Coulthard was traveling west on Canton Point Road when it struck a moose. The GMC sustained approximately $2,000 damage and the moose survived.
