I have a semantic gripe: It bugs me when people say “legalize same-sex marriage.”
I didn’t know that it was illegal.
Does that mean that there are same-sex couples rotting in prison?
Oh, wait … it isn’t illegal, rather it is not legally recognized.
Whew. So that means no one is in prison for the crime of same-sex marriage.
That is a relief.
Words matter, folks.
