RUMFORD — Mary E. Patrie, 76, of Canwell Road, Roxbury, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Rumford Hospital, following a brief illness with loving family at her side.

She was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Yancy, Ky., a daughter of Howard and Louise (Yarborough) Griffith. Mary attended schools in Kentucky.

Following college, she was employed with Eastern Airlines in New York, where she met her husband, Arthur E. Patrie.

They married on Nov. 1, 1958, and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage and had four children.

After their marriage, they moved to Maine, residing in Rumford for several years and later Roxbury, where she served as town clerk for many years.

Mary loved watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She also loved to travel and has been on many cruises. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Arthur E. Patrie of Roxbury; three children, Naomi L. Patrie and partner, Donna, of Mexico, Douglas K. Patrie of Rumford and Lisa C. Patrie and partner, Pauline, of Mexico; two sisters, Margaret Griffith of Custer Park, Ill., and Mildred Turner of Custer Park, Ill.; a brother, William Griffith of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; a grandson, Joshua Patrie; two great-grandchildren, Carrick A. Patrie and Acacia Patrie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a daughter, Michelle A. Patrie.
