Scott Nichols Sr. is running for Franklin County Sheriff to provide citizens with a more effective sheriff’s department. He has begun attending the Board of Corrections meetings to establish a working relationship with its members.

In 2009, the state of Maine converted the Franklin County Correctional Facility into a 72-hour holding location. At the BOC meeting on Oct. 3, discussions were held about restoring the jail to full-time capacity and not one member of the current administration attended.

One board member voiced their concern with Nichols, stating it appears as if Franklin County does not care what happens with the jail.

How can someone adequately lead the sheriff’s department without attending meetings that directly impact the organization?

That is one example why Scott Nichols’ leadership skills are desperately needed at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Registered voters should learn about both candidates and make an informed decision.
