When the selectmen in Canton asked me to contact the state for some help with an issue in town, I expected the usual. You call them; they say they are concerned and will get back to you.

So when I contacted Rep. Sheryl Briggs, I expected more of the same.

Within 48 hours of contacting her, I had received contact from four state agencies.

Briggs continued to contact me even after that to see if she could offer any other assistance.

She serves the people of her district very well. I do not know what party she is a member of, but I do know that if people want a person serving them in Augusta who will listen to them and act for them, she’s the one.

Sheryl Briggs is not the usual politician. She is hardworking and effective.
