Saddleback trail run

RANGELEY — The fourth annual Saddleback Mountain Trail Run will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, the day of the Saddleback Fall Festival.

The run is approximately four miles with a vertical change of 8,000 feet. The start will be at the Saddleback Base Lodge.

The registration fee is $25. Advance registration is recommended; visit www.saddlebackmaine.com or call 866-918-2225. Registration is also available the day of the event from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Everyone must sign a release of liability; participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign.

Awards will be presented after the race at the base lodge. Some of the proceeds will go to support the Saddleback Ski Scholarship Fund.

Extension groups meet

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers, in partnership with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in the Chesterville Town Office.

The topic of the meeting will be to work on the Christmas craft for the Rotary Christmas Tree to be auctioned off for charities.

The Extension Homemaker theme this year is “Everything Maine.” The public is invited to attend this free meeting. For information call 778-3156.
