The Civil War was the topic of a program at the Auburn Public Library on July 17. The speakers were Androscoggin Historical Society members, from left, Russ Burbank, who talked about the life of General O.O. Howard, born in Leeds; Annette Vance Dorey, who discussed websites useful in tracing Civil War military records; David Garcelon, who read letters from the war written by his great-grandfather, Charles A. Garcelon; and Doug Hodgkin, who talked about Civil War monuments in Lewiston and Auburn.
