Commercial Travelers to meet
MECHANIC FALLS — Twin City Council 160 of the United Commercial Travelers of America will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Ashley House. A spaghetti supper prepared by PSC Robert and Diane Blanchard will be served following the business meeting. Members are asked to bring a dessert. All members and guests are invited to attend.
Library potluck, speaker
POLAND — Person to Person Potluck/Program will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at Ricker Memorial Library.
Featured speaker will be author and retired game warden, John Ford, sharing stories of his adventures. Guests are asked to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share. For information call 998-4390.
Cycling information
LEWISTON — “Everything But the Kitchen Sink” is the topic of a free informational session set for 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center, in Chairmen’s Room A on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building. The presentation will last about 30 minutes.
Certified athletic trainer Greg Jancaitis from Central Maine Sports Medicine will discuss any cycling topics of interest to participants, include bike fit, riding techniques, cycling injuries and what to do for them, fueling and hydrating. Participants should come armed with questions.
Jancaitis is a USA Cycling certified cycling coach whose clients range from racers looking to take their training to the next level to those getting into cycling for the first time. He is an avid bicycle commuter and competes in ultra-endurance mountain bike races.
The program may be of particular interest to those participating in The Dempsey Challenge in October.

Golden Age luncheon
AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish will meet for their Luncheon Social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Sacred Heart Church.
Mark’s Magic will entertain from 11:30 to 12:30. Lunch will be chicken parmesan, salad and ice cream sundaes. Reservations may be made by calling 576-4082. New members are always welcome and may join by making reservations ahead.
VFW meeting Sept. 12
AUBURN — The Capt. Frank W. Hulett VFW Post 1603 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the post home on 588 Minot Ave.
All officers and members are encouraged to attend as a lot of info will be put out. The Ladies Auxiliary meets at the same time.

Sodality plans fall meeting
LEWISTON — The Ladies of St. Ann Sodality of Holy Family, Prince of Peace Parish, will hold their Fall Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 12, with a dinner preceded by a Mass said by Father Maurice Morin at 5:30 p.m.
New members will be welcomed and an Installation of Officers will be held.
