NEWRY — Sunday River and Sugarloaf ski resorts’ personnel will travel to Maine and New Hampshire locations this fall to host a movie showcasing the world’s top big-mountain skiers.
Filmed primarily in Alaska, “The Dream Factory,” features the world’s top skiers navigating some of the state’s highest and most remote mountain peaks amidst last year’s record-breaking snowfall, Darcy Morse, Sunday River spokeswoman, said Wednesday in a news release.
Featured athletes include Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Seth Morrison, Daron Rahlves, Erik Roner, Dana Flahr, Dylan Hood, Todd Ligare and many others.
The film is the newest movie by Teton Gravity Research, an extreme sports production company based in Jackson Hole, Wyo. Since 1996 TGR has produced more than 25 feature ski, snowboard and surf films.
Following in the footsteps of big-mountain pioneers such as Doug Coombs, Eric Pehota and Trevor Peterson, TGR’s athletes continue to push the limits of backcountry skiing, Morse said.
Dates, locations, and ticket prices are as follows:
* 7 p.m., Sept. 28 — The Music Hall, Portsmouth, N.H., $19
* 7 and 9 p.m., Sept. 29 — Port City Music Hall, Portland, $19
