Ministries cruise

NAPLES — The Blacksmiths Music Ministries, a local nonprofit ministry, will host its second annual “Love Them Enough To Tell Them” concert cruise from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, aboard the Songo River Queen II.

Ticket prices are $13 in advance with a free ticket for every one purchased. Tickets are available online at www.lovethemcruise.eventbrite.com.

The concert will be part of a one-and-a-half-hour cruise on Long Lake featuring the music of Joel and Janna, a Maine duo who have released their first professional video for their latest single “Don’t Withhold Your Love.” Joining them will be the Blacksmiths, another Maine band on a summer “End of the World” tour.

Boarding will begin at 7 for the cruise, is rain or shine. Refreshments will be available. For more information, call 743-6982.

Society speakers

WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 9, at the Wilkins House.  The topic will be apple growing and there will be
speakers from Pie Tree Orchard. After the meeting there will be potluck apple desserts.
