Community safety planned
NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Fire Prevention and Safety organization is preparing for Community Safety Days at the Norway Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18.
Coffee and refreshments will be provided for all who attend, at no cost. We will have door prizes and a raffle. Local fire departments, rescue and police will do specific activities of their own choice. We hope to have a live fire display, with firefighters going into Waterford’s Burn Trailer, showing the dangers of firefighting.
This is a day to reach out to our community to make it a safe place and make local residents more aware of safety and the people involved providing them this service.
The community safety days are presented by Oxford Hills Fire Prevention and Safety and hosted by the Norway Fire Department and Norway Fireman’s Relief.
Please note we will be celebrating Smokey Bear’s 75th birthday. This should be a fun-filled day, and everyone goes home safe.
