AUBURN — The 72nd reunion of Edward Little High School was held May 5 at the Auburn Methodist Church. Sharing in this event were 16 members of the original class of 226.

These members and their guests gathered mid-morning to reunite and remember. Two display tables of pictures and graduation memorabilia were a center of attention. Newly updated class directories were available along with a list of the 156 known members who are deceased. Sixteen classmates remain with unknown addresses. Registration and name tags (without the usual picture from the Oracle) were handled by Bobbi (Titus) Mixer.

Attending his first class reunion and traveling the longest distance was H. David Andrews Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. R. Russell Pelletier of Merrimack, N.H., was the other outside-of-Maine delegate.

Prior to a Swiss chicken dinner served by the Gladys Chapman crew, the group gathered in the sanctuary for the formal class picture.

After the meal, the gathering was officially welcomed by Marion (Hatch) Emery-Chesley, chairman. A tribute was offered for six classmates who have died since the last reunion. The group decided to have another reunion in two years.

Guest speaker was noted local newspaper columnist and historian, David A. Sargent of Auburn. Among the many memories of earlier years brought to light, he highlighted the Little family as he distinguished among the three Edward Little gentlemen.
