WELD — Trails on Tumbledown and Little Jackson mountains will get some help this summer from a Maine Conservation Corps field team crew.

The crew, which is seeking volunteer help, will work on trail restoration of Parker Ridge and Little Jackson trails, Sarah Gaffney, MCC volunteer coordinator, stated Tuesday in a news release.

“Volunteering with an MCC trail crew is a great way to get outside, get in shape, and make a difference in Maine,” Gaffney said.

Available volunteer dates are July 13 through 16, July 24 through 26, and Aug. 3 through 8. Gaffney said people can volunteer for a couple of hours or a few days.

All safety equipment and tools are provided by the corps.

For more information about volunteering with the MCC or to learn more about helping out with this project, contact Gaffney at (207) 624-6092 or sarah.gaffney@maine.gov, or visit www.maine.gov/doc/parks/mcc/volunteer.html.
