HARRISON — A home on Plains Road was badly damaged in a Thursday morning fire.
No one was injured, according to Harrison Town Manager George Finch, who is also the public information officer. “They all got out fine,” he said of owners David and Christine Nalley.
The cause of the fire and extent of the damage is unknown, he said.
Harrison firefighters responded to a call of smoke coming out of the 1 ½-story building at 589 Plains Road just before 11 a.m. A barn attached to the home houses Tool Works, a family-owned business that sells and repairs tools. It was not damaged.
When firefighters arrived, Finch said, fire was erupting from the upstairs windows. Firefighters from Bridgton, Otisfield, Norway, Paris and Oxford responded, he said. Waterford firefighters provided station coverage for Harrison.
Finch said firefighters contained most of the damage to the second floor bedroom where the fire started. Other rooms had smoke, heat and water damage.
Finch said the state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
