FARMINGTON — Verna M. Jackson, 97, formerly a long time resident of Gibbs Mill Road, Livermore, died Wednesday morning, May 30, at Orchard Park Nursing Home.
For the past 15 months, Verna had resided at Pinewood Terrace in Farmington.
She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Durham, the daughter of Everett L. Staples and Ethel (Davis) Staples.
Verna attended school in Jay.
On Oct. 12, 1935, in New Hampshire, she married her husband of 45 years, Perley W. Jackson of Livermore. He passed away Oct. 12, 1980, on their 45th anniversary.
Verna was a member of the Methodist Church, the Ladies Circle in Livermore, King’s Daughters and Bible Study Group in Livermore.
Verna at age 96, proudly continued to drive to McDonald’s Restaurant for her morning coffee and conversation. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting, but she especially loved the times she spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Arlene Dube and her husband, Lucien “Joe Pete,” and Patricia McNear and her husband, Lawrence, all of Livermore; her son, Bill Jackson and his wife, Carol, of Clermont, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
