Friends yard sale

LIVERMORE FALLS — Friends Together Peer Support is holding a benefit yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, at the new space at 31 Park St. There will be a large variety of items Fundswill be used for various activities during the year.

RANGELEY — The Wilhelm Reich Museum’s Sky Program will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the museum’s conference center, Dodge Pond Road.

The Venus Transit will be seen in the evening on the east coast June 5 and in the morning on the West coast June 6. Using solar filters on the telescopes observers will view Venus crossing between the earth and the sun. According to Sky and Telescope, it will take place from 6:04 to 6:21  p.m.

There won’t be another Venus Transit until December 2117. Refreshments will be served. The Sky Program has been created for all ages as part of the museum’s Natural Science Program and is free. For more information, call 864-3443.

Community breakfast

RANGELEY — A Ladies/Community Breakfast, with everyone invited to attend, will be held from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, Main Street.

Pet, People Walk

PORTLAND  — The Center for Grieving Children will host the 21st annual Pet and People Walk on Saturday, June 19, at Payson Park. Proceeds will benefit the center’s programs, which provide essential support to children and families grieving the death or serious illness of a loved one.

Registration and activities will begin at 9 a.m. at Payson Park and the walk will kick off at 10. After the walk, there will be music, contests, face painting, kite flying, radio and TV personalities.

Activities will continue until 12:30 p.m.
