AUBURN — St. Mary’s Development Office hosted Shamrocks and Shenanigans on March 17 at Martindale Country Club. The guests, many adorned in celebratory green attire, enjoyed an array of St. Patrick’s Day activities.
The dining room was decorated with green and white lights. The tables were aglow with candles, glittering shamrocks and gold coins. The hors d’oeuvres included smoked seafood and a variety of cheese and fruit. Grilled hearts of romaine, with warm bacon and feta cheese dressing was followed by sirloin steak with baked stuffed shrimp, red bliss potatoes and fresh green beans almandine.
Chip Morrison, president of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, served as the auctioneer for the evening. A silent auction was also held.
The nine-piece Bob Charest Band entertained guests.
St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center’s cancer program is the recipient of the event’s proceeds grossing more than $36,000. The money will be used in support of patients who need help with prescription drug costs, transportation to and from appointments and the purchasing of educational materials for patients and their families.
