FARMINGTON — A New Vineyard teen escaped injury Wednesday morning when he successfully missed several deer but lost control of the car he was driving and rolled it on Holley Road.

Trevor Adams, 17, was driving south on a dirt section of Holley Road heading toward Fairbanks Road, Route 4, Farmington police officer Michael Raymond said.

Adams avoided one deer, then a second deer and then a group of deer that crossed in front of him as he traveled.

He lost control and just as he was about to regain control, Raymond said. The driver’s side tire on the 1994 SAAB 900 S went in to the soft shoulder on the road along a steep ditch area and the car rolled on to its roof.

When he arrived, Raymond said, the driver’s side was leaning against a tree.

As a precaution, Adams’ mother took him to the hospital to get him checked out, he said.

The speed limit on that section of the road that runs from New Vineyard to Farmington is a 45-mile per hour speed limit, Raymond said.

The driver told him he was going 35, he said.

Raymond said he drove the area a couple of times and doesn’t believe speed was a factor in the accident.

The car was heavily damaged, he said.
