RUMFORD — The next Community Networking Meeting sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, at noon, at the Rumford Public Library. A light lunch will be provided.
Laurieann Milligan from Med-Care ambulance will speak about its role in the community to heighten the awareness on sudden cardiac arrest.
Other agenda items include community updates from the Healthy Communities as well as from other River Valley organizations.

WOWS group meeting
RUMFORD — Widows or Widows Sharing will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Rumford Senior Citizens, 50 Congress St.
Members are invited to bring money to play games of chance. Snacks provided by Evelyn Canwell and Alfreda Bernard. All widows or widowers are welcome to socialize. For more information call Barbara Morse at 562-4225.
Pork lunch free for vets
DIXFIELD — On Sunday, May 27, Memorial Day weekend, Dixfield Congregational Church will hold a lunch of Carolina slow-cooked barbecue pork (pulled pork) following church. The lunch will be free for veterans. Donations will be accepted and given to Homes for our Troops.
Community dinner
DIXFIELD — A free community dinner and fellowship will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Dixfield Seventh-day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall, 1 Blayne St.

Bethel Seniors to meet
BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Black Diamond Restaurant at Sunday River.
The cost of dinner is $10. The speaker will be Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant.

Whitecap trails work day
RUMFORD — Mahoosuc Land Trust will celebrate National Trails Day, Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a work day on Rumford Whitecap trails.
Work will include maintenance on existing trails and start on construction of the Whitecap to Black Mountain Trail. Bring gloves, small hand tools such as clippers and loppers, lunch and water. Blazing Star chicken bbq
RUMFORD — A chicken barbecue will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Blazing Star Lodge, Route 232 in Rumford Corner.
Menu includes chicken, mashed potato, green beans, stuffing, macaroni salad, cole slaw, gravy, cranberry sauce, coffee, punch and pie.
Adults, $10; under 12, $5. Take-outs available. A stair chair is on the back stairs.
