WAYNE — The 2012 Wayne Farmers’ Market will open Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 26. Market hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through Sept. 29, at the green next to the Post Office.

Many of last year’s vendors are returning with vegetables, meat, perennials, baked goods, wool, goat’s milk soap, blueberries and eggs. Chris Cushman and Friends will be performing over the July Fourth weekend and the market will again offer children’s activities.

This summer, in addition to providing access to locally grown food, organizers plan to bring locally-grown music to the market. There will be an open mike time most weeks where musicians of all kinds and ages from Wayne and nearby towns are invited to perform. A small battery-operated amplifier and microphone will be available. Musicians wanting to play should contact Stan at standavis@yahoo.com
