JAY — Bartlett Memorial United Methodist Church at North Jay had a dedication of their new sign, officiated by Pastor Doris Morgan, with the laying on of hands.

The sign was consecrated to the glory of Almighty God for the service of Bartlett Memorial UMC, in honor of the Livermore UMC, who gave the sign. Trustees presented the sign to be consecrated. Members surrounded the sign and accepted the sign as a sacred trust to be used reverently. Debra Breton acquired the sign and spent many hours reconstructing new lettering.

The Parish Thrift Shop, community mission outreach, located next to the church, will be open for the season from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2.

The thrift store offers low priced and lightly used clothing, shoes, household items, baby clothes, toys, books, dishes, sports items and some furniture. Donation of items are welcome.

The UMC motto, “Open Minds, Open Hearts, Open Doors,” reflects the dedication to keep the church doors open for all people. The Sunday morning service begins at 9 a.m. and includes Bible reading, a sermon, prayers and music. All are welcome.
