I think Gov. Paul LePage misunderstands the meaning of “corruption” when he refers to Maine state workers as “corrupt” (April 28).
Corruption has several meanings, such as corrupted computer files and perverts corrupting young people’s morals, but usually refers to politicians taking money or bribes.
State workers are not taking bribes or stealing money.
Perhaps he means that state workers are “intransigent” or inflexible and sometimes unwilling to do exactly as he says when his ideas conflict with their ideals and organizational goals.
