BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) — Independent U.S. Senate candidate Angus King has named three independents, three Democrats and three Republicans across Maine to be statewide chairs on his campaign.

The independents are former gubernatorial candidate Eliot Cutler, state Sen. Richard Woodbury and former state Rep. and gubernatorial candidate Sherry Huber.

The Democrats are former legislators Judy Paradis, Mike Saxl and Barbara Trafton.

The Republicans are former gubernatorial candidate Matt Jacobson and former lawmakers Sue Bell and Jim Libby.

King, a former two-term governor, said all are committed to bipartisanship in Washington.

King is the leading independent running for the seat being vacated by Sen. Olympia Snowe, who is not seeking re-election.

Six Republicans and four Democrats are running to be their parties’ nominees in June’s primaries.
