AUBURN — Edwin O. Stevens, 65, of Sumner, passed away Saturday evening at the Hospice House.

He was born in Lewiston, March 4, 1947, a son of Stanley and Colista Curtis Stevens.

He attended schools in Sumner and Buckfield and faithfully served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, seeing duty in Thailand.

He worked many years as a repairman for Sears, owned Stevens LP gas, Country Crossroads Store in Sumner, and recently worked at Sunday River.

Edwin was a member of Evening Star Lodge No. 147 AF & AM in Buckfield, First Universalist Church in Sumner and a trustee of the Pleasant Pond Cemetery Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, gambling, traveling to casinos and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne of Sumner; two daughters, Melissa Wood of Norway, and Michele Lowell and her husband, Bill, of Sumner; four grandchildren, Courtney and Cassidy Lowell, and Alexander and Kelsey Wood; two sisters, Pauline Kirschner and her husband, Paul, of Sumner, and Jayne Averill and her husband, Ed, of Sumner; a sister-in-law, Jane Stevens of Sumner; and an uncle, Howard Stevens of Canton; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins; and his dog, Simon.

Edwin was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Darwin; and his dog, Barkley.
