GLBT group forming

AUGUSTA — Integrity, a national organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) Episcopalians, is forming a new chapter in the Central Maine area. A meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 9 Summer St. GLBT people of different faith traditions are also invited to the meeting.

The meeting will include lunch and a worship service led by the Rev. Ed Greene, priest at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Winthrop. For more information contact Joseph Riddick or the Rev. Heather Blais at centralmaineintegrity@gmail.com.

Retired educators meet

STRONG — Franklin County Retired Educators will meet at 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, at the White Elephant, Main Street. There will be a program on the Wabanaki Indians featuring Judy Ranco. Garden Club to meet

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will entertain gardening questions and answers from members at the next meeting being held at Trinity United Methodist Church on the Farmington Falls Road on Tuesday, April 17. Members are asked to bring in questions they have on gardening, hopefully a few in written form, to be answered by fellow members.

A social half hour will start at 12:30 p.m. followed by a meeting conducted by club president Amy Palmer. Hostesses will be Bev Oliver, Karen Clary, and Helen Wilkey. Nonmembers who are gardeners are also encouraged to attend with questions. For information call 645-2067.

Free lunch for seniors

FARMINGTON — A free community senior citizen’s lunch will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Living Waters Assembly of God, 547 Wilton Road.

Historical meetings begin

NEW VINEYARD — The New Vineyard Historical Society will have their first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Historical Room. Program to be announced.

Upcoming meetings will include a program explaining Wreaths Across America, to be presented by Joe Ross of Wilton on May 16. The program will explain Christmas wreaths being placed at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as others upon request.

Another program, “The Bridge That Changed a Town,” will take place Sept. 19. Presenter Carl Stinchfield will tell the interesting history of the Strong bridge which involved the people of New Vineyard.

Other programs will be on computer genealogy presented by Richard Wilde, a potluck supper with mystery entertainment and a trip to be confirmed later.

Spring Fever craft fair

Basic pistol course

WILTON — A two-day basic pistol course will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 20, at Wilton Fish & Game Club House, Route 2. Course will be taught by an NRA-certified pistol instructor. Preregister by calling Everett at 779-0721.
