AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A 40-year Maine man is facing a terrorizing charge for allegedly threatening to get a gun and shoot Gov. Paul LePage.

A Maine State Police affidavit says Richard Lee Andrews of Gardiner told staff at Kennebec Behavioral Health that he knew the governor’s routine and how his bodyguards worked and that he would wait for the right day to obtain a gun and shoot the governor “right between the eyes.”

The Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/H6pVM7 ) reported that the threat was made Thursday while Andrews was meeting with therapists and a psychiatric evaluator.

Judge Susan Sparaco on Friday ordered Andrews to undergo a competency examination. He’s being held on $10,000 bail.
