 J. Henry Graham of Old Orchard dropped into a chair in the Lewiston Journal Office Thursday. Thus he began: “We’re going to hold our Lewiston and Auburn automobile show April 4, 5 and 6,” he said. “It’s going to be better than last year’s. We shall hold this one in Auburn Hall. Dr. J.F. True and Co. of Auburn will display the Metz, that fast, powerful little car for so little money.”

50 years ago, 1962
 The Falcon Rule Co. of 45 Hutchins St., Auburn, has been awarded a $60,378 contract for rulers under the government’s program to assist small business firms in labor surplus areas. The Auburn concern will make the wooden desk rulers for the General Services Administration.

25 years ago, 1987
Auburn city councilors will be asked Monday whether they want the city to petition the state for the replacement of Lapham Brook Bridge on Young’s Corner Road. “There is no question as to the need for the improvement and, therefore, I would recommend” the petition, said City Manager Charles A. “Chip” Morrison in a letter to the council. The Maine Department of Transportation said local bridge projects have been given priorities and the Lapham Brook Bridge was identified as a second-level priority.
