FARMINGTON — Police are looking for 21-year-old Miguel Cedeno, who they believe tried to break in to a Lamkin Lane residence at 5:13 a.m. on Feb. 14.

There is an arrest warrant for a felony charge of attempted burglary committed, Farmington police said in a news release.

Cedeno is accused of breaking a window in a mobile home with the butt end of a shotgun in an attempt to enter a residence, police said.

The homeowner had reported to police that a man was standing on his porch and demanding entry.

Police arrived within three minutes but the man had already fled in a small car with a loud exhaust, police Chief Jack Peck said on Valentine’s Day.

The officers observed a substantial amount of blood under and on the window that was broken, he said. A search of the area revealed no further evidence.

Officers went to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and found a man who had gone to the emergency room with a lacerated hand, he said then.

Blood from the scene and the DNA sample were sent to the Maine State Police Crime Lab for analysis, he said.

An arrest warrant was obtained after DNA from the blood evidence left at the scene was matched to a voluntary DNA sample given by Cedeno on the morning of Feb. 14 at FMH.

Cedeno had sought treatment approximately 25 minutes after the attempted break in with a cut to his right hand, police said

Cedeno denied being in the Lamkin Lane area, Peck said previously.

Cedeno is approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall, 140 pounds. He has black hair, and brown eyes and is of Puerto Rican descent, police said.
