Film sneak peak
LEWISTON — The Sneak Preview: A Fundraising Event for the Lewiston Auburn Film Festival will be held Thursday, March 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Royal Oak Room at IronHorse Court, 1 Bates St. The public is invited to attend an evening of food, friends, a silent auction and a “sneak preview” of this year’s Lewiston Auburn Film Festival.
Along with light refreshments and a cash bar, LAFF will be serving up a smorgasbord of trailers of some of the many films accepted into this year’s festival. Silent auction items await the highest bidder. A $5 donation at the door is suggested; no ticket is required. Cribbage winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Feb. 23 were: first place, Anna Faucher, three player table; second place, Don Haley and Bert Belanger; third place, Donna Aube and Ron Hynes; fourth place, Muriel Webber and Roland Bosse; fifth place, Cecile Leblond and Dick Dennis.

Sabattus seniors
SABATTUS — Sabattus Senior meeting will be held on March 1 at the Maxwell Hall; doors open at 11 a.m. Meal will be corned beef and cabbage, followed by a meeting and ending with a few games of bingo.

Upcoming trips include one on May 16 and 17 featuring a dinner show in Wrenthram, Mass., continuing to Foxwood for an overnight stay at the Bellissimo, with the show “Broadway Tonite.” Cost is $160 per person, which includes bus, show, hotel and four meals. A lobster luncheon and show in Scarborough will take place Aug. 21. Choice of lobster or chicken. $77 per person. A trip to Cape Cod will be made available Aug. 23-26 for $469.

Auburn Art Club
AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, at the United Methodist Church on Park Avenue. The speaker will be Cathryn Falwell, an author and illustrator of children’s picture books.
Falwell has published 26 books, most of which focus on nature or creative children. She will talk about her work and the process for developing and illustrating books. Falwell and her family reside in Gorham and have a summer home on Taylor Pond.
The hostesses for this meeting are Beverly Preble, chairman, assisted by Stephanie Upton, Jean Hathorne and Joan Libby.
All club members are encouraged to attend.
